Hurrah for the Life of a Stockman

Pass around the pannikin, merry let us be,
Care comes quick and sure, as though to mock, man.
But little will be heed, as we quaff our bright brown tea,
In a bumper to the life of a stockman

Chorus
So crack, crack, crack,
Listen to the stockwhip rattle,
Crack, crack, crack,
As we round up our pesky cattle
Oh we stockmen lead a merry merry life
Under the spreading gum trees

It's foolishness repining when we can all be gay
Should melancholy come, do not heed his knock, man,
But keep the door shut fast and he'll surely go away
We don't need him in the life of the stockman.

In the days of glee and merry nights, the time goes quickly by
Little know we of the grief that often come and shock, man
We let the future rest in peace and in the present cry
Hip hooray, then for the life of a stockman.

So here beneath the blue sky and the graceful bending trees
All pleasant dreams and fancies still will surely flock, man
Toil and trouble ever may you banish from the lees
In the wild and jolly life of a stockman.
