I was giving a lecture at the above college and suggested to the students that folklore can exist in their own families. A week later one of the girls contacted me with an item that had been in her family files since 1954. Her grandfather had been a shearer's cook up near Crookwell and had written these lines in a notebook dated Nov. 54.
