Trafalgar Bay

It was in Trafalgar Bay we saw the foeman lay
Each heart was boundless then
We scorn the foreign yoke
For our ships were British oak
Our hearts of oak our men

How Nelson marked them on their weary
Three cheers our gallant seamen gave
No thought of home nor beauty
No thought of home or beauty
Along the line our signal ran
England expects – that every man this day
Shall do his duty

Next verse added by correspondence

At last the fatal wound
That spread dismay around
The heroes' breast received
Her fight upon our side
The day's our own he cried
And long enough I've lived
I honour caused my life was passed
In honour caused I die at last
For England home and beauty
England confessed that every man
This day had done his duty.
