JOHN ANLEZARK Via Catholic Teachers' College North Sydney 1988 Ginger's SheepWe started shearing at Bungadeen,The roughest sheep that's ever been seen; The owner stood and watched all day, The ringer said, This will never pay. To make a tally we must shear them rough The rate we're on is not nearly enough. So we held a swarm on the board next day, And we asked the boss for a raise in pay; But all that he raised was his ginger eye-brows, And left us there with a frown on ours. So we walked off the board and loaded the truck, And w went into town to turn our luck. |
