Mrs Susan Colley Bathurst Home for the Aged Recorded 1973
Dying StockmanA strapping young stockman lay dyingHis saddle supporting his head His two mates around him were crying As he rose from his pillow and said Wrap me up in my stockwhip and blanket And bury me deep down below Where the dingoes and crows won't molest me In the shade where the coolabahs grow Oh get me a couple of saplings Place one at my head and my toe And do not fail to scratch on it To show there's a stockman below |
