THANKS FOR THE MEMORY

Thanks for the memory of old Bar 20 days , of Muriel's stony gaze,
Of moonlight nights on the prairie where we loved to laze
How lovely it was, thanks for the memory,
Of Woolnough in a whirl, of Duffield's hair of curls,
Of Alice Clark and Mary ward and all the other girls.

How lovely it was many the times we have fasted,
Gee, it was foul while it lasted,
We've lived on cold unsweetened tea and blinking M&V;,
So thanks for the memory of Carlisle at the door a-yellin' like a squaw,
“You kids of hut 83 should have been on parade before!”
I thank you so much!
